In mature telecommunication markets, the Revenue Assurance function is not new within the standard company organizational structure. Over the past decade, several factors led to the consolidation of the Revenue Assurance function as such. Customer complaints about incorrect billing, the identification of revenue loss by Internal Audit teams, and regulatory compliance, such as SOX, are among those factors.     Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. Implements RAID, the Revenue Assurance Software by WeDo Soft
WeDo Soft, a leading provider of software solutions for the communications & media markets, today announces that Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. (TP), Poland’s incumbent national communications carrier, has decided to deploy WeDo Soft’s Revenue Assurance solution RAID (version 3.1) for bill run verification, T.P.’s platform integrity and revenue flow control.

 
    Oi GSM (Brazil) and WeDo Soft collaborate to launch new Oi Wap portal
WeDo Soft announces today its successful collaboration with Oi, Brazil’s largest GSM operator, to provide a more advanced and interactive portal. From the beginning of June, Oi customers can access a pioneering new service, the new Oi Wap, thanks to WeDo Soft’s Wzone solution. This new version allows for a more pleasant and interactive user navigation through colourful and thematic icons that are applied to each service.

 
    WeDo Soft initiates expansion in Latin America with a partnership for the Chilean Market
WeDo Soft has just reinforced its presence in Latin America with the announcement of a strategic partnership with Chilean company RevenuExtension. Through this partnership, RevenuExtension will represent all of WeDo Soft’s solutions in the Chilean market, namely in the areas of Revenue Assurance Management (RAID), Credit and Collections Management (ICS), Commissions and Incentives Management (CMS) and Roaming Management (RMS).

  China’s mobile phone user base
hits 432m

The number of mobile phone users in China hit 431.8 million in July far and away the most of any single country in the world. Chinese users continue to sign up for mobile phone service at a far faster pace than for fixed-line services.

82.5% of mobile lines are prepaid
A total of 82.5% of all mobile lines in Latin America are prepaid plans and 16.8% are postpaid while 0.7% of users have a hybrid plan. Venezuela is the country with the highest penetration of prepaid lines with 93.5% followed by Mexico with 91.1% and Brazil with 87.7%. Argentina ranks as the Latin American country with the lowest percentage of prepaid lines (64.2%).
