Do you know many tools that are able to control and assure, on a daily basis, the revenue of more than 70 millions telecom subscribers’ worldwide?
If your answer is "no", than you will appreciate the rest of this article.
The Telecom environment has change dramatically in the last couple of years. From a focus on customer acquisition and launching new services operators’ today main concern is to assure that their systems are accurate and provide clear and complete information, as they can no longer afford to lose revenues. It is estimated that on average the revenue loss accounts up to 12% of total revenues.
Usually, the revenue loss occurs because of incoherence between the information on the different systems – network components, operational and business support systems. This can be generated, among others by loss of records, incomplete customer records, errors in the files exchanged between systems, incorrect service rating, record creation failure, corrupt calls, delayed records or even fraud.
This situation is no longer acceptable, is time to act!!!
In order to tackle this problem, WeDo Soft has been working with operators worldwide in deploying our Revenue Assurance Integrity Driller (RAID) solution.
RAID imports/integrates information from different platforms in a central database, apply business rules to detect/identify errors or inconsistencies, produce alarms, different type of analysis and reports. It was created to support revenue assurance strategy implementation and to avoid data and financial losses related with inconsistencies in business support systems and network platforms.
Currently the solution is composed by the functional modules presented herein:
- Integrity Assurance Module
- Revenue Control Module
- Events Control Module
The Integrity Assurance Module allows automatic checking of subscriber information consistency in the platforms used by the operator, such as CRM systems, Pre-paid platforms, HLR and Billing. This module allows identifying and correcting problems in the activation chain, avoiding this way any loss of revenue. The system processes discrepancies in the different systems in a process of comparison and production of divergence reports.
The Revenue Control Module is used to monitor the revenue chain, from CDR generation in the switching centers and/or service platforms, to the inclusion of these CDRs in the invoices sent to subscribers, including all rating process. This module allows monitoring the exchange of information between the different revenue chain systems, identifying possible failures or deviations in comparison to historic behaviors or between systems. As a result, the system produces alarms and reports.
The Events Control Module is used to control individual events processing, monitoring a selected set of events from the CDR’s generation at the MSC’s and/or service platforms to the inclusion of these in the invoices sent to customers. This module allows the identification of faults and errors individually for a set of relevant events and to measure response times across the revenue chain enabling to determine service levels.
The typical user of RAID is the revenue assurance analyst that needs a flexible and robust tool to adapt to the ever changing business environment and at the same time is able to process and analyze millions of events. RAID provides strong reporting and analytical capabilities allowing them to quickly identify and qualify potential revenue leakage at a click away, without the need to code.
RAID also offers operators a fast track solution to handle Revenue Assurance challenges and not only a tool as it provides a set of pre-defined Revenue Streams Templates in order to speed up Revenue Assurance Projects implementation and share best practices.
Each Revenue Streams Templates provides a set of points of measure definitions, loading and control rules, transformation and aggregation rules, validation rules for pattern and behavior analysis and inter-system analysis.
Our experience and know how covering wireless, wireline, triple play and ISPs operators has allow us to define a framework that comprises not only a robust and complete tool but also the experience that we can share with our customers and replicate in every project, the result?
- Projects with fast ROI
- Low risk
- Quick wins approach to quickly deliver results
RAID at this moment is controlling and assuring, on a daily basis, the revenue of more than 70 millions telecom subscribers’ worldwide. Do you like to take part of this number?
So, if you are someone that has the responsibility, within an operator, to stop and control the revenue leakage, please don’t hesitate in contacting us through the email customerservices@wedoconsulting.com
