  Are operators double counting?
In mature Western European markets mobile penetration has reached such high levels that it is becoming increasingly difficult for operators to find new market segments that they can address in order to drive further growth in subscriber numbers. The total subscription base, in Western Europe, is increased by less than 10%.

Gartner: India Highest Telecom Growth Market In Asia-Pacific
India will remain the highest growth market for telecommunications services in the Asia-Pacific region, with around 35 million new subscribers in 2005 marking an 18% increase from 2004, said Gartner Inc. in a report. Mobile penetration in India would reach 8.2% in 2005 and 14.5% in 2008.
